Add a New user in Windows 11 PC – Easy Guide

In Windows 11 there are 2 kind user – one with Microsoft account login and second local users. To add a new user in Windows 11 PC you can use multiple options. Before creating a User with Microsoft account login ensure you have properly configured Microsoft account. You can login to your Microsoft account on Browser and check your account. Ensure you have properly set your recovery method as it will be useful in case you forget password.

Add a New user in Windows 11 PC from Settings

Here will show how to add New user in Windows 11 using settings options. We will cover both type of users – 1) User with Microsoft account and 2) Local account.

Adding User with Microsoft account to Windows 11 PC from Settings

1. Open Settings from Start Menu. Shortcut to Open Windows Settings is Windows + I ,press both keys together on Keyboard.

2. On Settings Menu Click on Accounts from Left side after that Accounts Menu will Open.

3. Click on Family and Other users in Accounts Menu.

4. Click on options for adding other accounts to Windows 11 and then click on Add account button refer image below.

5. In Next Microsoft account Window enter your email id or phone number you have used while registering your Microsoft account.

6. Now Press Finish and you have added new user with Microsoft account to PC.

Note: No password will be asked while adding user. Password has to be entered by user when first log in to PC is done.

Adding Local User to Windows 11 PC from Settings

1. Open Settings from Start Menu. Shortcut to Open Windows Settings is Windows + I ,press both keys together on Keyboard.

2. On Settings Menu Click on Accounts from Left side after that Accounts Menu will Open.

3. Click on Family and Other users in Accounts Menu.

4. Click on options for adding other accounts to Windows 11 and then click on Add account button refer image below.

5. In Microsoft account window, click on I don’t have this person’s sign-in information.

5. In Next Window you will be asked to create a new Microsoft account id, click on Add a user without a Microsoft account here.

6. Now Press Finish and you have added new user with Microsoft account to PC.

7. In next Window create local user account by entering user name and password, and then confirm your password. Below Password you have to select 3 security Question and provide their Answers. Finally Click on Next.

Your local account has now been created and will appear under other users

Add a New user in Windows 11 PC using Computer Management

1. To open Computer Management right click on Start Menu and now click on Computer Management. Alternatively Press Windows + X key and click on Computer Management.

2. In left side pane of Computer Management Window, Select Local Users and Groups. In Center User Management Console will open. Right Click on User and Select New User

3. In Next Window you will be asked to enter New User Name along with Full Name. Provide password and confirm same. then confirm user creation by clicking on Create. Note: You can select here if you want user to change Password at time of Next login. Else you can deselect this option.
