Mount Windows ntfs partition in Linux

If you are using Dual boot Linux with windows, situation may arise where you want to mount windows partition in Linux.  This can be performed easily but this mount will be lost once you restart your system. We are using a windows 7 and Fedora 17 installation for this purpose.

Mount Windows NTFS partition in Linux – Steps

  1. Open terminal. Change to root user by typing su
  2. Check which partitions you want to mount by typing fdisk –l
  3.  Now mount partition by typing command typing  mount /dev/sdx /mnt/ -t ntfs
